Modern Industries

Peenya is always loud. We are right on 10th Main, 3rd Phase. It’s been a while since we set up here. Most days start early because the trucks get stuck in traffic if we do not. Modern Industries is just a place where we get the work done. The floor is usually covered in some kind of dust or shavings. We do not have a fancy front office or anything like that. People come by, we talk about what needs making, and then we do it. The machines are old but they run fine. Sometimes the power goes out in this part of Peenya, which is a pain, but we manage. It’s mostly just a few of us here. We know the neighbors, mostly other shops doing the same kind of stuff. If you are looking for us, look for the big blue door near the corner. It is not hard to find if you know the 3rd Phase layout. We spend a lot of time fixing things and making sure the dimensions are right. It is not glamorous work. My hands are usually dirty by 9 AM. We have a small kettle for tea in the corner. That is about it. We do not really do much advertising or anything. People just know we are here on 10th Main. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially under the tin roof, but we are used to it by now. Just a regular shop.
