Parbeen Kaur

My place is at 106 Dheeraj Manor on Kensington Road in Ulsoor. It’s a nice enough building, and being in Ulsoor means everything is close by, which is handy. I operate under my name, Parbeen Kaur, and this is where most of my day happens. The room I work from has a decent view of the street, and you can see the trees lining Kensington Road. It’s much quieter than the main roads, which I appreciate when I’m trying to focus. I’ve lived and worked in different spots, but there’s something about this part of town that feels right. It’s got that mix of old houses and new apartments. I don’t have a big sign outside or a lot of fuss. Most people who come here already know the way or they’ve heard about me from someone else in the neighborhood. I spend a lot of time on the computer or on the phone, just managing the daily bits and pieces. It’s not always exciting, and sometimes the internet acts up or the power goes out for an hour, but you just deal with it. I try to keep my workspace organized, though by Thursday there’s usually a pile of papers that needs sorting. I like that I can just step out and be near the lake in a few minutes if I need some air. It's a practical setup for the kind of work I do.
