Padma Ganesh Spices & Agarbaties Works

Down on Prt Street in Indiranagar, at 16/359, is where we do our work. Padma Ganesh Spices & Agarbaties Works is a bit of a mouthful of a name, but it tells you exactly what we do. The smell around our shop is always really strong because of the incense and the spices we handle. Some people love it, some people sneeze, but we've gotten used to it over the years. We spend our days grinding things down or packing up sticks of agarbaties into those little cardboard boxes. It’s a lot of repetitive work, and your hands end up smelling like sandalwood or turmeric for days. We don't use big industrial machines for everything. A lot of it is still done by hand because that’s how we learned to do it. The building is old, and the floors are a bit uneven, but it’s been our home for a long time. We have a few ladies from the neighborhood who come in to help with the packing when we get a big order. It feels more like a community spot than a factory. We don't have a fancy sales team. We just wait for people to call or stop by. It’s a slow and steady kind of business, and we’re fine with that. We just focus on making things that people actually want to use.
