We are over at No. 247/3 in Mariyannana Palya, which is right on the Dasarahalli Main Road near the Hebbal Agri Farm in Bangalore. It’s a busy corner, especially with the traffic coming off the main flyovers. We are situated opposite Janardhan, so that’s a good landmark if you’re trying to find us for the first time. The office is a simple room where we keep the registers and talk to new students about their timing. Learning to drive in this part of Bangalore is quite an experience because the roads are always full of bikes and buses. We start our sessions early to beat the worst of the Hebbal jam, but even then, it’s a lot of stopping and starting. Our cars are out on the road most of the day. We show people how to handle the clutch and the brakes until it becomes second nature to them. It’s mostly practical stuff, nothing like what you see in movies. We just go around the local streets and eventually hit the main road when the student is ready. The office has a bit of a worn-in feel because so many people have passed through it over the years. We have a small fan that keeps things moving inside, and there’s always someone coming in to ask about the license process. It’s a steady routine of driving, teaching, and handling the paperwork for the Bangalore RTO without much fuss.
