National Radiators

Our workshop is right there in T Dasarahalli, where the road always seems to be under some kind of repair. It gets quite loud with all the trucks passing by, but that’s actually good for business. Most of our day is spent looking at old radiators and trying to find where the leaks are coming from. It’s messy work, and by the time evening rolls around, my clothes are usually stained with grease and coolant. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It’s just a covered space with all our tools hanging on the walls. Some of the wrenches have been here as long as I have. We get a lot of local drivers coming in because their engines are overheating in the Bangalore traffic. I usually have a cup of tea while I wait for a radiator to cool down enough so I can touch it. My son helps out sometimes on the weekends when he isn't busy with his own things. We’ve been in this same spot for years, and most people in the neighborhood know where to find us. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. The floor is always a bit slippery, so you have to watch your step when you walk in. We just focus on getting the cooling systems back in order so people can get back on the road. It’s simple work, really, and we like it that way. We don't mind the long hours.
