Working at Nagendra Design Consultancy means being right in the middle of things at 48/57 Bangalore Gpo Main Road. It’s a busy spot. The traffic outside never really stops, so there’s always a hum of engines and horns in the background while we work on our drawings. We’ve got a couple of big tables covered in papers and some old computers that have seen better days. The walls are a bit yellowed, but they’re covered in sketches and notes taped up everywhere. We spend a lot of time arguing over small details in the designs. It’s not a corporate office with glass walls or a fancy lobby; it’s more of a workshop feel. We get people walking in from the Gpo area asking for directions sometimes. We just point them the right way and get back to it. It’s a lot of sitting and thinking, then drawing, then starting over when it doesn't look right. My chair squeaks every time I move, which drives the others a bit crazy. We drink a lot of water because it gets stuffy in the afternoons. The address is easy to find, which helps since we have people dropping off files all day. Being on the Main Road has its perks, like being close to the food stalls for a quick lunch. We don't try to look like some high-end firm. We just focus on the design work and try to get things right for the people who hire us.
