N A S Motor Driving School is tucked away at Shop No. 42 on the Ground Floor of the B. D. A. Shop area. It’s a convenient little spot for us because people can just walk in while they are doing their other errands. We keep the place pretty simple. There are some chairs for waiting and a desk where we handle the scheduling. Most of the real work happens outside on the streets. We take our students through the local neighborhoods and out onto the bigger roads once they are ready. It takes a lot of practice to get comfortable with the steering and the gears, so we don't rush anyone. We’ve seen a lot of changes in the area since we moved into this B. D. A. shop, but our way of teaching hasn’t changed much. We just focus on being practical and showing people what they need to know for the actual road. The ground floor location makes it easy for older students to come in without having to deal with stairs. We keep our hours pretty regular, starting early and finishing up when the light goes. It’s a modest operation, but it keeps us busy and we like being part of the daily rhythm of the marketplace. We just focus on the lessons and keeping our cars in good running order for the next person. It is what we have always done.
