About Monica Designs – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Bengaluru
Monica Designs is tucked away in Sindhi Colony, right on the 4th Cross of Assaye Road. We are in the Cooke Town area, which is a nice part of the city with plenty of trees. We spend our time working on different designs. Sometimes it’s fabrics, other times it’s figuring out how a space should look. It’s a creative mess most of the time. We have sketches and samples lying around everywhere. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few people who are good with their hands and have an eye for detail. The shop is small but it fits what we need. People come in with an idea, and we try to make it real. It takes time. You can’t rush this kind of work. We get a lot of light in the afternoons, which helps when we're trying to match colors. It’s a quiet street for the most part, which is good for thinking. We’ve lived and worked around here for years. We know the local tailors and the people who sell the raw materials nearby. It’s not a high-pressure environment. We just want to make things that look decent and serve a purpose. We don't do much talking; we mostly just get to work on whatever project is on the table that day. It's a good way to spend the day, making things from scratch and seeing them finished. That is basically what we do here.
