Mohammed Ishaque Pu College

Mohammed Ishaque Pu College is over on Davis Road in the 560084 area. If you know Bengaluru, you know this part of town gets quite a bit of traffic throughout the day. We have been here for a while now, sitting right at No. 46/1. It’s a pretty basic setup. We have the usual classrooms with wooden desks that have seen better days, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint if we ever got around to it. Most of the kids who come here are from the local neighborhoods. They arrive on their cycles or hop off the buses that stop nearby. We spend our days going through the PU syllabus, trying to make sure everyone understands the chapters before the big exams come around. There is a lot of noise from the street, but you get used to it after a week or two. Our staff is just a bunch of regular people who live around here. We drink a lot of tea in the break room and talk about how much the city is changing. It is not a fancy place with high-tech gadgets in every room. We use chalk and talk. Sometimes the fans make a clicking sound that drives you a bit crazy, but we just keep going. It is a place for learning, nothing more and nothing less. We keep the gates shut during classes to keep the distractions out. It's just how things work here every day.
