Modern Machine Components

You can find us at 24/34 Prakash Nagar 3rd Cross. We are on the 14th Main, in the 3rd stage, which is right near Vivekavardhini School. During the day, you can hear the school bells and the kids playing during their breaks. It’s a bit of a contrast to what we do inside, which is mostly making and fixing machine components. We have a few lathes and some old drills that have seen better days but still work just fine. The shop floor is usually covered in little curls of metal from the day's work. We try to sweep up every evening, but it’s a losing battle. My father started this and I just kept it going. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the machines. People bring in broken parts or sketches on scraps of paper, and we see what we can do to help them out. It’s not a fast process, but we try to be thorough. The neighborhood is mostly houses, so we try not to make too much noise too late in the evening. We like being near the school because it keeps the area feeling lively. Sometimes we have to hunt for specific materials, which means driving around to other parts of the city. But mostly, we are right here at our benches, working on one piece at a time until the job is done. The rain sometimes leaks through the back door, but we put a bucket there.
