Modern Financiers is located at 121 Hospital Road in Chickpet. If you know anything about Chickpet, you know it’s a tight squeeze with the narrow lanes and all the shops selling cloth and jewelry. We are quite close to Abhinay Talkies, so that’s usually where we tell people to head towards. Our office is right in the thick of the market activity. We handle finance stuff, which mostly involves a lot of counting and checking ledgers. It’s not a quiet place because of all the shouting from the street vendors and the bells from the nearby temples. We have a small desk and some old wooden cupboards for our files. It feels like time hasn't changed much inside these walls, even though the world outside is getting faster. People walk in from the market with their bags and sit down to talk about their accounts. We don't use any fancy software for everything, a lot of it is still done the old way because it works for us and our customers. Sometimes it gets so crowded on Hospital Road that we can't even get our tea delivered, so we just wait for the rush to die down. We aren't some big bank with glass walls. We are just a local office trying to help people manage their money. It’s been our daily routine for years and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. It’s a bit cramped, but we are used to the Chickpet hustle.
