Mn Degree College is over in Kammagondanhalli, Jalahalli West, which is a busy part of Bengaluru. The traffic around here can be quite a headache, especially in the mornings when everyone is trying to get to work or college at the same time. The college building is a multi-story structure that stands out among the smaller houses in the area. It’s a bit of a climb if your class is on the top floor because the elevator is sometimes out of order. Inside, the rooms are quite large with rows of benches that have seen many batches of students come and go. You can always hear the hum of the city outside the windows. We have a small parking area for scooters and bikes, and it’s always packed by ten in the morning. The office staff are usually busy sorting out admission forms or hall tickets, and there’s always a bit of a queue at the counter. In the canteen, you can get tea and some local snacks, and that’s where most of the talking happens between classes. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed, not too strict, and you see students sitting on the stairs or in the corridors studying together. It’s a typical city college where things are a bit fast-paced but still feel local. We have a lot of students who walk from the nearby residential blocks, so it feels very much a part of the Jalahalli neighborhood.
