Mitra Industries

Out here at 473/4 Sunkadakatte, things move at a different pace. We are tucked away on 12th Cross, right near the New Mascot Road intersection. It’s a bit hard to find if you aren't looking for the 3rd Main sign specifically. Mitra Industries isn't a big corporation. It’s just a small setup where we make things and try to keep everything organized, though that doesn't always happen. The shelves are overflowing with parts and the workspace is always a bit cramped. We have about four guys working here regularly. We spend a lot of time checking the machines and making sure the measurements are right. If a belt snaps or a motor gives out, we're the ones under the machine with a wrench. Sunkadakatte gets very dusty in the summer, and that dust gets into everything. We keep the doors open mostly to catch a breeze. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the steps until it comes back on. It’s a quiet enough area until the trucks start rolling through. We’ve been on this cross for years and the neighbors know us by name. We don't bother with fancy advertisements or big signs. People just find us by word of mouth or by getting lost on their way somewhere else. It’s a simple life, making stuff and getting it delivered. We just try to get the work done by the time the sun goes down.
