Mistry Architects

Our office is located in Padmanabhanagar. It’s a quiet residential area, which suits us just fine. Mistry Architects isn't a place with marble floors or a big glass entrance. It’s just a house that we’ve turned into a workspace. We spend our days drawing and talking about how to make spaces feel better for the people using them. We don’t go for the big, flashy projects that you see in magazines. We prefer working on homes or small buildings where we can really focus on the details. Padmanabhanagar has a lot of trees and it’s a nice place to think. Sometimes we sit outside to talk through a design problem. We have a lot of books on the shelves, mostly about how things were built in the old days. We try to use materials that make sense for the local climate. It doesn't make sense to build something that needs the air conditioner running all day. People in the neighborhood know us as the folks who are always looking at houses. We aren't very formal here. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in jeans and t-shirts. We think that if the work is good, it doesn't matter what we are wearing. We’ve been doing this for a long time and we still find it interesting every single day. There’s always a new way to look at a floor plan.
