Down at 564 Banaswadi on the Jnanbharthi Main Road, you'll find us in the Basha Complex. Meenakshi Hardware Electricals is basically a room full of heavy metal and electrical parts. It’s a busy spot because the road is always packed with cars and bikes. The Basha Complex isn't exactly a modern mall, it’s an old building with narrow stairs and a lot of character. We spend our mornings unloading sacks of nails or boxes of pipe fittings. My hands are usually pretty dirty by lunch. We sell everything from hammers to heavy-duty cables. It’s a lot of lifting and carrying. Some days are so busy I don't even get a chance to sit down until the sun is low. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. If you want something, you just come in and ask. I know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to anyone else. The Jnanbharthi area has changed a lot since we opened, but our shop stays pretty much the same. We have a small radio that plays the news while we work. People come in to complain about their leaky taps or broken fuses and we try to give them the right part to fix it. It’s a simple business. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in town, just the one that actually has what you need when you're in a hurry.
