I work out of my place at 25 Tilak Nagar, which is inside the Shantikiran Housing Society. It’s on Dr GD Ambekar Marg, and if you’re looking for it, I’m right behind the Arya Handloom shop. It’s a quiet enough area, which is good because insurance needs a bit of focus. I’ve spent years going through policies and explaining the fine print to people who live nearby. It’s not the kind of job that makes headlines, but it’s important to the families I help. My office isn't some glass-walled corporate suite. It’s a practical space where we can sit down and look at papers over a cup of tea. I handle a lot of different types of insurance, so there is always a new set of rules or a new form to learn about. People usually find me through word of mouth or because they live in the society. I don't go in for big advertisements. I think being honest about what a policy covers is better than trying to sell something people don't need. The walk to the office is nice, especially since the neighborhood is so familiar now. Sometimes it’s just me here, and other times it’s a bit busier with neighbors dropping by to ask a quick question about their renewals. It’s a steady way of life and I’ve grown to enjoy the routine.
