Manipal Hospital

We are set up right on Airport Road, and honestly, you can't miss us if you’re heading that way. It’s a very central spot, which means we get people coming in from all over the city. The traffic can be a real headache some days, especially during peak hours. Inside the hospital, it’s a whole different world. We’ve got the usual clinical smell and the sound of machines beeping here and there. It’s not exactly a cozy place, but it’s functional. We aren't trying to sell anyone on anything. People come here because they have to, and we do our best to take care of whatever brought them in. The staff works in shifts, so there’s always someone around, whether it’s three in the afternoon or three in the morning. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving between different rooms and checking on things. The desks are usually piled with files and the phones ring more than we’d like. It’s just a busy hospital on a busy road. We don't have any big promises to make. We just show up, put on our scrubs, and get to work. It’s a practical sort of life. We focus on the patients and the tasks at hand, and then we go home. That’s the long and short of it for us here. Sometimes we run out of chairs in the waiting room or the vending machine eats someone's change, but we just keep things moving. It’s a lot of work and long hours, but we’re here to do the job.
