About Manipal Hospital – Medical & Healthcare in Bengaluru
If you head up to the 9th floor of the Manipal Hospital building on Airport Road in Rustom Bagh, you’ll find us. This is where the IT department and some of the back-office stuff happens. It’s a bit removed from the main lobby and the emergency rooms downstairs. Up here, it’s mostly computers, cables, and people trying to make sure the hospital’s systems don’t crash. We’ve got a view of the surrounding area, but mostly we’re looking at screens. It’s a different kind of pace compared to the doctors’ offices. We deal with the technical side of things, making sure records are where they need to be and the internet stays up. The building at 98 Rustom Bagh is quite tall, and being on the 9th floor means we’re tucked away. We’re just a bunch of regular people working behind the scenes. We don't really have a public-facing role like the nurses do, but the work is still important for the whole place to function. Sometimes the coffee machine breaks or the servers get finicky, and those are our big challenges for the day. It’s not fancy work, but it keeps the hospital moving. We don't have any slogans or missions up here, just a lot of monitors and some hard-working folks trying to keep the data sorted out for everyone else. It can get a bit lonely away from the main hospital floor, but we prefer the quiet. We’re just doing our bit with the technology so everyone else can do their jobs properly without any glitches.
