Mango Cancer Care Foundation

We are over here in Girinagar, right by Seetha Circle. If you know the area, it is pretty quiet usually, but the traffic near the circle gets a bit much in the evenings. Our place is called Sapthadri, number 4272 on Vivekananda Park Road. It’s a regular building, nothing too fancy. Mango Cancer Care Foundation started because we saw how much trouble families have when someone gets sick. It isn’t just the medicine, it’s everything else too. We spend a lot of our time sitting at these desks just trying to figure things out for people who call us. Sometimes the phones do not stop ringing and other times it is just us drinking tea and waiting for the next person to walk through the door. We don't have a big corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a few rooms where we keep our files and meet folks. Most of us have been living in Bangalore for a long time, so we know how hard it is to get around to hospitals. We try to help out with the practical stuff. If someone needs to know where to go or how to handle the paperwork, they come here. It gets a bit dusty with the windows open, but we like the breeze from the park road. We’ve been at this for a while now, just doing what we can from this corner of Girinagar. It is honest work, even if it is tiring some days.
