Malliga Industries

Our workshop is over at 112 Rajajinagar Industrial Estate, right near Sanjay Park. It’s an industrial area, so there is always the sound of machines or trucks backing up somewhere nearby. We have a good amount of space here, but it’s mostly taken up by equipment and raw materials. Working in Malliga Industries means your hands are rarely clean. We spend a lot of time on the floor, making sure everything is running like it should. The air usually smells like oil and cut metal. It gets pretty hot in the summer months since the roof is high and we don't have much cooling. We just drink a lot of water and keep moving. Sanjay Park is close by, so sometimes we walk over there just to see some green for a few minutes during lunch. It’s a nice break from the grey walls of the estate. We don't really have a front office or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in the back working on a job. We’ve been in this spot for years and the neighbors are all doing similar work. We help each other out with tools or advice when something breaks down. It’s a tough way to make a living, but it feels good to actually build things. We don't spend money on fancy signs. People find us because they know the work we do. There is a tea stall down the road where we usually end up at five o'clock to stretch our legs.
