Mahle Filter Systems India Ltd. is located over at Plot 14 in Sector 1. This is a purely industrial zone, so don’t expect any fancy parks or cafes around here. It’s all warehouses, factories, and heavy trucks moving on the main roads. Our plot is quite large because of the nature of the filter systems we work with. There is always a rhythm to the place, the sound of machinery and the movement of the staff. Sector 1 is a bit far out from the residential areas, so most of us commute quite a distance to get to Plot 14. The sun can be really harsh out here since there isn't much shade between the buildings. We spend our days mostly on the floor or in the small office area attached to the main shed. It’s a dusty environment, which is ironic given that we make filters, but that’s just how industrial sectors are. We don't have a polished corporate lobby. The front gate is just a metal one with our name on a small plaque. People who come here are usually drivers or suppliers. We just keep our heads down and focus on the production schedule. It’s a straightforward job and we’ve been at this plot for a long time. There is a small tea stall just outside the sector gate where everyone gathers during the lunch break to talk. It's not a glamorous spot but it is where we do our daily work.
