Mahaveer Driving School

Our school is located in Mariappan Palya, specifically at 401 on Vijaya Nagar 5th Main. We’ve been teaching people how to drive for a good while now. It’s mostly about getting folks comfortable behind the wheel so they don’t panic in traffic. We use regular cars that are easy to handle, nothing fancy. The instructors here are patient because we know how nerve-wracking it is to start out. We spend a lot of time on the local roads, practicing turns and parking. Sometimes the traffic in Vijaya Nagar makes it interesting, but it’s good practice for the real world. We don’t have a big office with a secretary; it’s usually just one of us answering the phone while we’re between lessons. We keep a schedule in an old notebook to track who is coming when. Most students are young people getting their first license, but we get older folks too who finally decided it was time to learn. We explain the signs and the rules of the road in a way that actually makes sense. There aren't any glossy brochures here. We just tell you what it costs and when you can start. It’s a small, local operation. We like seeing someone go from being terrified of the clutch to driving smoothly on their own. That’s pretty much the whole point of being here at 401.
