Maharshi Savitha College Of Education

This college is tucked away in Nagashetty Halli, specifically on the 5th Main Road in the Ngef Colony part of Sanjay Nagar. If you know Bangalore, you know how these colonies are—lots of trees and people walking their dogs in the morning. We are at number 6. It’s a busy spot because Sanjay Nagar has become so crowded over the last few years. The college itself is where we train people to become teachers. It is not a huge, sprawling campus like the ones you see on TV, but it has enough room for our classrooms and the library. The library is actually the quietest place we have, though the street noise from the main road still drifts in. Our staff mostly lives nearby, so we are all familiar with the local shops and the tea stall at the corner. We spend a lot of time in the office dealing with university paperwork and making sure the schedules are pinned up correctly on the notice board. It is a bit of an older building, so the stairs creak sometimes and we are always telling the students to be careful. The atmosphere is generally quite serious because everyone is focused on their exams and their future careers in education. We don't do a lot of fancy events, just the regular stuff that needs to happen to keep the college going. It’s a plain, honest place to study and work for anyone who wants to learn.
