Marathahalli is a bit of a mess with the traffic these days, but we’ve been here at Payal Bunglows on Satellite Road for a while. Being near the Chowdeshwari Temple helps people find us, even if the GPS gets a bit confused sometimes. M V J College Of Education is a place where things stay pretty quiet once you actually get inside the gates. We mostly focus on getting the future teachers ready for their careers. It's not a high-rise building or anything like that, just a regular place in a very busy part of Bangalore. We see a lot of people coming in from the nearby areas to study. The office usually has a stack of files that never seems to get any smaller no matter how much we work. We have tea in the afternoons and talk about the local news or the weather. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stop, but it’s okay once you get used to the route. The temple bells nearby are a nice touch in the mornings. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the walls, just a few notices about exams and schedules. It’s practical work, really. Teaching people how to teach others takes a lot of patience and time. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to wait it out or open the windows for some air. It’s just a normal college life. We try to keep the small garden outside looking decent, though the Bangalore dust makes it a constant struggle. It’s just our little corner in Marathahalli.
