Our place is over in Yeshwantpur at Appa Balwant Chowk, specifically 118 119. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know how crowded the streets get with all the trucks and shops. M M C Hardmetal India Pvt Ltd is right in the middle of all that noise. We deal with a lot of metal components and tools every day. The floors are concrete and there's usually a bit of oil or metal dust around if you look closely. It’s a hardworking environment. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just some calendars on the walls and cabinets full of heavy parts. The phone rings a lot and there's usually a delivery guy waiting by the entrance with a clipboard. We handle the inventory and make sure the orders are packed up correctly. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running at full speed all day. Everyone here knows their job and we don’t spend much time on small talk. We just want to make sure the metal parts are sorted and ready to go out to the customers. It’s a bit dusty and the lighting could be better, but it’s a solid place to work. We’ve got a small area for taking breaks where we drink tea and talk about the weekend. It’s just a regular industrial setup with no frills. The back door stays propped open with a brick to let some air in.
