Lakshmi Venkateshwara Driving School

The driving school is based in Mathikere, Bangalore. If you live around the 560054 area, you have probably seen our cars driving around. We aren't a big company with a fleet of hundreds of vehicles. We just have a few cars and we spend our whole day in them. The office is a very simple room where we do the registrations. It has some dusty posters about road safety and a couple of chairs for people to sit while they fill out their forms. Teaching people to drive in Bangalore traffic is a real challenge. We start very early in the morning, often before six, to give the new students a chance to practice when the roads are a bit quieter. Mathikere has a lot of small lanes and busy intersections, which is good for learning, even if it is stressful for the learners. We spend a lot of time talking about the clutch and the gears. Our instructors are just regular guys who have been driving for years. We don't have any fancy training programs or simulators. We just get out on the road and learn by doing. It’s a basic business. We don't spend much on advertising; mostly people just find us because they live nearby or their friend learned here. It’s a steady job and we like helping people get their licenses and feel confident behind the wheel.
