Lakshmi Press Components

Down in Kadugondanahalli, at number 41426, you’ll find our workshop. We’ve been running Lakshmi Press Components for a while now. It’s a loud place, to be honest. The sound of the press machines is something you just get used to after the first week. We make different metal parts and components that go into other things. Most of the day is spent watching the machines or checking the quality of what comes out. Metal work is heavy and it gets hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer months. Our floor is always covered in some scrap or oil, but we try to sweep up before we head home. We are just a local group of workers. Some of us live nearby and walk to work, others take the bus. There’s no big corporate vibe here. We talk about local news over lunch and worry about the same things everyone else does. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend hours fixing it, which is frustrating but it’s part of the job. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters. We just make the components people ask for and try to keep the machines in good shape. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. The neighborhood has changed a lot, but our little corner remains pretty much the same as it always was. It is just a practical place for people who like to work with their hands.
