Jyoti Nivas College Autonomous

Jyoti Nivas College is located over on Hosur Road in the Koramangala area of Bengaluru. It’s been an autonomous institution for some time now, which gives it a bit of a different feel compared to other colleges. The campus is right in the middle of a very busy part of the city, surrounded by shops and cafes. Even though it's a college, the atmosphere inside is quite focused. We have various blocks for different subjects and a decent amount of greenery considering how packed Koramangala is. You’ll see students hanging out in the corridors or sitting on the steps between their lectures. The buildings are well-maintained, but they still have that lived-in look that comes with years of use. We have a canteen that gets really packed during the lunch hour, and the noise level is quite something then. The library is one of the quieter spots, filled with old and new books. Traffic on Hosur Road is almost always a nightmare, so most of us are used to the sound of honking in the background. It’s a place where young women come to get their degrees and figure out what they want to do next. It’s not a corporate office; it’s a learning space with a lot of history in this part of Karnataka. It feels like a small community within the big city.
