About Jet Power Batteries – Automobile in Bengaluru
Down here at Rajaji Nagar 369, the shop is usually smelling a bit like metal and old acid. Jet Power Batteries isn't the cleanest place because dealing with car and bike batteries is messy work by nature. There are stacks of black and grey battery casings everywhere you look in the corners. Most of the time, I’m standing at the back with a little tester in my hand checking if a unit can still hold a charge or if it’s completely dead. People come in looking worried because their car won’t start in the morning and they are late for work. We take the old ones, give them a look, and see what can be done. My hands are almost always stained with some kind of black grease that doesn’t really wash off easily with regular soap. The floor is stained too, mostly from years of moving heavy stuff around. It’s a small shop on a busy street, so the noise of traffic is always there in the background. We have a few tools scattered on the workbench, some old cables, and a couple of chargers humming away in the corner. It’s not a job for someone who likes to stay tidy all day. Sometimes we have to go out to help someone jump-start a vehicle nearby when they are stuck. It’s just how it goes every day from morning till we pull the shutters down at night. We don’t do much else besides batteries.
