You can find us at Number 6 in the 6th Block of BEL Layout. We’re right there in Vidyaranyapura, not too far from the Durgaparmeshwari Temple. Bangalore traffic is something else, so teaching people to drive here takes a lot of patience. We start early because the roads are a bit quieter then, though not by much. Our office is a simple place where students come to sign up and show their learner permits. We have a few cars that we use, and they’ve seen a lot of miles. I’m always reminding people to check their mirrors and not to panic when a bus gets too close. It’s a bit of a challenge sometimes, especially with the hilly parts of the neighborhood. The temple nearby is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. We spend most of our day sitting in the passenger seat, hitting the extra brake pedal we have on our side. It’s a lot of repetitive talking—clutch, gear, indicator—but it’s what we do. We’ve seen hundreds of people pass through here, some who learn fast and others who take a few tries. We don’t have a big corporate structure, just a small team trying to make sure people don’t end up in an accident once they get their license. It’s a local business, through and through, and we like it that way.
