Indus Interier Designers

The office for Indus Interier Designers is over in Basavanagudi at 37 Maruthi Layout, right across from the Kamala Nehru School. It’s a pretty lively spot because you can hear the kids playing during recess while we are trying to look at floor plans. Our space is usually covered in fabric swatches, wood samples, and big rolls of paper. Designing interiors is mostly about trying to figure out how to make a room look decent without spending a fortune, and it involves a lot of measuring and re-measuring. We aren't one of those high-end firms with a glass building. We are just a small group working out of a regular house-turned-office. The 1st A Cross road is a bit narrow, so it can be a squeeze when we are unloading new materials or furniture. We spend a lot of time arguing over which shade of blue looks better under different lights. It’s not always pretty work; there is a lot of dust when we are visiting sites and a lot of stress when things don't fit the way they were supposed to. We just enjoy the process of taking a bare room and turning it into something people can actually live in. We have been in this layout for a while now and most of our neighbors know us as the people with all the colorful samples on their desks.
