Indian Institute Of Management

We are located over at the Bangalore campus, specifically where Professor Janat Shah has his office. It is a very green and quiet campus, which is a nice change from the rest of the city. Our day usually starts with a lot of emails and trying to get through the stack of papers on the desk. It is an academic environment, so there are always students dropping by with questions or looking for some help with their projects. We don't really do anything flashy here. It is mostly just research, teaching, and making sure the administrative side of things doesn't fall apart. The office has a big window that looks out onto some trees, which is nice when you’ve been staring at a computer screen for five hours straight. We have a small kettle in the corner for making tea because the walk to the cafeteria is a bit long when you are in a hurry. It’s a lot of routine work, but it feels important in its own way. We don't have a big staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering phones to organizing files. Sometimes we stay late when there is a deadline for a paper or an exam to grade. It’s just the usual life of being in an educational place like this one in Bangalore.
