Impact School Of Architecture

The school sits over in Sahakar Nagar South, right in the heart of Sahakara Nagar here in Bangalore. It's a 560092 pin code area if you’re looking it up on a map. Most of us get here pretty early before the traffic really kicks in on the main roads. The building isn't anything too flashy, just a solid place where people show up to learn about architecture. There are always rolls of tracing paper and cardboard scraps lying around the studios because students are constantly building models. It gets a bit messy sometimes, especially during the submission weeks when everyone is rushing. You can hear the hum of the plotters going and people arguing over where a wall should go in their drawings. We’ve got some big windows that let in the light, which is nice when the Bangalore weather is actually behaving. Sometimes we just sit out front for a bit to get some air or a quick snack from the vendors nearby. Sahakar Nagar has grown a lot lately, so there are more shops and places to grab a quick tea now than there used to be. It's a busy spot but we’ve gotten used to the noise from the street. The staff here mostly just focuses on getting through the syllabus and helping out with the technical stuff. It’s not a corporate setup at all. It’s just a bunch of people interested in buildings, trying to make sense of blueprints and site plans every day. We spend a lot of time just talking through ideas and fixing mistakes on the fly. It feels more like a workshop than a formal institution.
