Down on 21 Bel Main Road, you'll find where we work at Imi R & D Center India Pvt Ltd. It’s tucked away in the Malleshpalya Extension, over in Maruthi Nagar. We spend most of our time inside the lab or at our desks trying to figure things out. It’s a bit of a trek for some of us to get here, especially with the way K H Road gets during the morning rush. The building itself is straightforward. We aren't really about showy lobbies or anything like that. We have our equipment and our files, and that’s what matters. Most of the staff here have been around for a good bit, so we all know how the coffee machine works and which windows to keep shut when the dust kicks up outside. It’s a research place, so there’s a lot of quiet thinking and occasional debates over some data. Malleshpalya is a decent area with plenty of small shops nearby if we need a quick lunch. We just go about our business every day, trying to make progress on the projects we have. It’s steady work and we like the routine of it. There’s always something new to look at on the screens, but the neighborhood stays pretty much the same. It feels like a real community here even though we’re doing technical stuff.
