Abhaya Hospital

Abhaya Hospital sits at No. 17 on Dr. M H Mari Gowda Road. We are positioned right opposite the 9th Cross Bus Stop, which makes it easy for people to find us even if they are coming from the other side of town. The hospital stays quite busy because of the location. There is a constant stream of people coming in and out of the front doors throughout the day and night. You can hear the buses pulling up and the conductors shouting through the windows. Inside, the floors are kept clean, but the building shows its age in some of the corners and hallways. We have a small waiting area that is almost always full of people. The staff here is usually running from one room to another, trying to stay on top of everything that needs to be done. It is not a quiet place, but it is a place where a lot of important work happens. We have a small desk at the entrance for registration, and the person sitting there usually has a long line to deal with. The air smells like antiseptic and sometimes like the food from the stalls outside. We do not have fancy private rooms or anything like that; it is mostly about getting people the help they need. The night shift is a bit quieter, but even then, there is always someone awake and moving around. It is a local hospital that has become part of life on Mari Gowda Road.
