Hema Rubber Moulding Works

You can find us at 14 Ramachandrapuram, right on the 5th cross in the New Kalappa Block. We are very close to the railway station, so you can always hear the trains passing by and the loud whistles blowing. It’s a noisy place to work. We have different machines for moulding rubber, and they make a lot of sound throughout the day. The smell of raw rubber is something you just get used to after working here for a while. Our workshop isn't very big and it gets quite hot near the presses when they are running. We are usually covered in a bit of dust or grease by the end of the shift. It’s hard work, but we’ve been doing it at this location for many years. The floor is concrete and has some cracks and stains here and there. We have a small corner with a table where we keep our ledgers and take orders from customers. Most of our clients are local businesses that need specific parts made. We don't have a website or any fancy brochures to show off. People just come to the gate and ask for what they need. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a batch if a machine breaks down during the day. It’s a bit messy and crowded with raw materials, but we know where everything is. We take our tea breaks sitting on some crates outside near the tracks.
