Up in Jalahalli, on M.E.S. Road, you’ll find us at HEATCON Instruments. It’s a bit of a drive from the city center, but it’s a good spot for what we do. We make instruments and sensors, so the place is usually full of small parts and wires. It’s not a very clean-looking office because there is always some project being put together on the workbenches. We have a few technicians who have been with us for years, and they know where every single screw is kept. The Post Office is nearby, which is handy for when we need to send out small packages. The building itself is older, and the windows rattle a bit when the heavy trucks go by on M.E.S. Road. We don’t have a big HR department or a PR person. It’s just us. We drink a lot of chai and talk about how to fix the machines when they act up. Sometimes the shipments get delayed because of the rain, and we have to explain that to whoever is waiting. It’s just part of the job. We don’t make things sound better than they are. We just build the instruments, test them, and pack them up. It’s a practical way to earn a living, and we’re used to the pace here. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and start the day’s production without much fuss.
