Hash Interiors

Hash Interiors is tucked away in Kalipalayam, which is part of the whole Sakinaka mess. If you’ve ever been through this part of town, you know the traffic is something else. Our place at number 67 isn't huge, but it's where we keep all our samples and drawings. There is usually a layer of sawdust on the floor from some project or another, and the tables are covered in fabric swatches and wood bits. We don't really have a showroom or anything like that. It’s more of a workspace where we figure out how to make things fit into people's homes. Most days we are out at different sites checking on how things are being built, so the office is sometimes empty during the middle of the day. When we are here, we’re mostly arguing over measurements or looking at catalogs to find a specific handle or hinge. It’s a bit chaotic with all the stuff we have crammed in here, but we know where everything is. Sakinaka is a loud place with all the industrial stuff going on around us, so it’s never really quiet. We just do our thing, trying to turn sketches into actual furniture or rooms that people can actually live in. It’s a lot of manual work and getting our hands dirty, not just sitting behind a screen. We just keep at it and hope the result looks right.
