We've been at 59 Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar for a long time now. People around here know H M T Machine Tools for the heavy stuff we handle every day. It’s not a fancy place, just a workshop where things get done. We started out small and mostly just stayed that way because it works for us. Most mornings start with coffee and a look at the project list. We deal with lathes, milling machines, and all sorts of parts that keep other shops running. Sometimes the floor is a bit oily, but that’s just how a machine shop looks when people are actually working. Our regulars usually just walk in the back door. We don't have a big front office or someone sitting at a desk all day to answer phones. If we're busy with a machine, the phone might ring a few times. That's just the way it goes. We know our equipment inside and out. It’s loud in here and there’s always a hum from the motors. We don't spend money on shiny signs or ads because most folks find us through word of mouth. If you need something fixed or a specific tool part, we probably have it or can figure out how to get it. It’s just us here, making sure the machines do what they’re supposed to do. Nothing more to it than that. We like the neighborhood and the people who stop by to talk shop.
