Gleason Works India Pvt Ltd is located over at 37 Mahadevapura, right in the Doddenakundi Industrial Area. If you know the Whitefield Road area, you know how packed it gets with all the trucks and workers. We have been operating out of this facility for a good stretch of time. It is a big space, but it always feels full of equipment and parts waiting to go out. The morning shift starts when the sun is barely up. We spend most of our hours looking at drawings and checking the machines. It is dusty work sometimes. The industrial area has changed a lot over the years, with new buildings popping up everywhere, but our gate stays the same. We have a small crew that has been here for years, so we all know how the old machines like to act up on Mondays. It is not the kind of place where you wear a suit. Most of us have oil on our hands by lunchtime. The canteen is where we usually talk about the cricket scores or the traffic on the way in. Working in Doddenakundi means you deal with the power cuts and the heat, but that's just part of the job in this part of town. We just keep our heads down and finish the batches as they come in. There is always something that needs fixing or a shipment that is running late. That's life here. We just try to get things done.
