About Freelance Architect & Interior Designer – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Bengaluru
Setting up shop at 78 2nd Main Road was a choice made mostly for convenience. Being a freelance architect and interior designer means I spend half my life in my car or on a scooter anyway, so having a base here works out fine. The office is basically one large room where I keep all my books, samples, and drafting tools. It’s not a big corporate operation. Sometimes I have a couple of people helping me out when the workload gets too heavy, but mostly it is just me. I handle everything from the initial floor plans to picking out the door handles and the paint colors. I’ve found that being on 2nd Main Road makes it easy for clients to drop off documents or for me to run out to a site visit quickly. My desk is usually buried under layers of sketches and old coffee cups. I don’t follow a strict corporate schedule, so if a design idea hits at ten at night, I’m probably here working on it. People come to me when they want a house that feels like a home, not a museum. I like the challenge of fitting a kitchen into a weirdly shaped corner or making a small living room feel bigger than it actually is. It is honest work, and I enjoy the process of seeing a drawing on paper slowly turn into a real building with walls and a roof.
