Our place is situated way out at the 41st kilometer on NH4. It is a long drive out to Kuluvanahalli Post in Nelamangala Taluk, but that is where we have the space we need. Since we are Fosroc Chemicals India Private Limited, we deal with a lot of industrial stuff that you cannot really do in the middle of a city. The site is big and mostly consists of large sheds and storage tanks. Out here, the air is a bit different than the city center, though the highway is always humming with traffic. The staff here mostly comes in from the nearby villages or takes the bus from the outskirts of the city. We have a lot of routine tasks like checking the drums, monitoring the mixing areas, and making sure the gate records are right. It is a lot of physical work and the sun can be quite brutal on the open parts of the yard. We wear our boots and gear and just get on with it. The office part is separate but it is also quite basic, just chairs, tables, and computers to keep track of the chemical batches. We don't have any corporate slogans on the walls, just safety signs and schedules. It is a functional industrial site where we focus on the technical side of things every day. Working at the 41st km means we are a bit isolated, but we have a good rhythm.
