Forgings & Allied Products

Down in Peenya 1st Stage, things are always a bit loud because of all the factories. Our place, Forgings & Allied Products, is located at B 123 on the 3rd Cross. It is right in the middle of the industrial estate. Most of our day is spent around machines and metal. It gets pretty hot inside during the summer months, but we just keep the fans going. The floor is usually a bit oily and there are metal scraps in the corners. That is just the nature of this kind of work. We aren't a big corporation with suits; we are just guys in work clothes getting our hands dirty. The trucks come and go all day on the narrow roads outside. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we just wait it out or work on smaller things. We have been in this spot for years. You can hear the sounds of hammers and drills from the neighboring units too. We take our tea breaks at the small stall down the road. It is hard work, and we don't try to make it sound like anything else. We make the parts, pack them up, and send them out. There is no front desk or reception area here. You just walk in and talk to whoever is free. It’s a practical place for practical work, and that is how we have always run it.
