Fadd Studio

Fadd Studio is over on St Marks Road, right in the middle of things. Our office is number 102 on the first floor of the building called Sophia’s Choice, which is number 7. It’s right across the street from Bishop Cotton Girls School, so we hear the school bell and the kids quite often. St Marks Road is one of those classic Bangalore streets, and we like being here. The office is where all the ideas happen. We spend hours at our desks sketching out designs or looking at material boards. It’s a creative space, but it’s also a place where we have to deal with the reality of budgets and timelines. We have a lot of books and magazines around for inspiration, but mostly we just talk to each other to figure things out. It’s a small team, so we’re all pretty close. We don't have a formal dress code or anything corporate like that. Usually, we’re just in jeans and t-shirts, especially if we have to go to a construction site later. The work can be tiring, but it's satisfying to see a room come together. We get all sorts of people coming in to talk about their homes or offices. We just sit down, have some tea, and see what they need. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, even when we’re under pressure to finish a project.
