If you’re driving down Haines Road in Frazer Town, you’ll probably pass by our little shop at number 16. We specialize in making number plates for all kinds of vehicles. Whether it’s a brand-new scooter or an old car that needs a fresh plate, we do the work right here. We have the machines for embossing and the paints for the lettering. It’s a small place, so you’ll see the plates hanging on the walls as examples of different styles people like. Usually, there’s a bike or two parked right out front while we fix the new plates on for a customer. It doesn’t take very long, maybe twenty minutes or so depending on how many people are waiting. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just see the sign and pull over when they need something done. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I can pretty much tell the size needed just by looking at the vehicle. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when the road is busy outside, but we just keep working on the bench inside. It’s a simple business, really. We just make sure the numbers are clear and the plate is bolted on tight so it doesn’t rattle when you’re driving over the potholes. We open up every morning and stay until the sun goes down.
