Exide Ranganatha Battery

At Exide Ranganatha Battery, the shop always smells a little bit like lead and acid. We are tucked away in Padmanabha Nagar, specifically on the 18th Cross of the 18th Main. It is a busy corner of Chikkalasandra. Most of the time, we are lugging heavy car batteries around or checking if an old UPS battery can still hold a charge. My back usually aches by the end of the day from lifting those things. People usually call us when their car won't start in the morning, and they are already late for work and frustrated. We just check the voltage and see if it needs a jump or a full replacement. We have rows of new batteries stacked up on the metal racks, mostly just the standard sizes for hatchbacks and SUVs. The shop is at number 14, and sometimes finding a place to park right in front is a nightmare because the road is narrow. We also do those tall tubular batteries for home inverters which are even heavier. It's dusty work, and my hands are almost always stained with something. We don't do anything fancy here, just testing, charging, and swapping out old units for new ones. Sometimes the rain gets inside if we don't pull the shutter down fast enough. It’s just a practical business for people who need power. The neighborhood kids sometimes play cricket on the street when it is quiet in the afternoon.
