If you are walking down Gandhi Adigal Salai, you’ll find us right near Raya Mahal. It’s a busy part of Kumbakonam, lots of people moving around all day. We’ve been set up at 82 A for quite some time. The building is old but it works for what we need. We spend most of our time teaching the younger generation about how things are built and designed. It’s not always easy because the subjects are tough, but the students here are hard workers. They come in early and some stay late in the labs. We don't have those fancy glass walls you see in big cities. It’s mostly just classrooms, desks, and a lot of books. The heat in Tamil Nadu can be a lot, especially in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going. Our staff lives nearby, so we all walk or bike to work. Sometimes we go over to the local stalls for tea during the breaks. It’s a simple life here at the college. We try to keep the equipment running as best as we can. Every year, a new group of kids comes in, and we start all over again. It’s rewarding to see them finally understand a difficult concept. We don’t do much advertising. People usually find out about us by word of mouth in the neighborhood. We focus on the daily lessons and making sure everyone understands the basics.
