Dr C S Shashikanth Rao Clinic is located in the Venkateshwara Building within Nagashetty Halli. It goes by the name Kathik Clinic on the sign outside. Nagashetty Halli is a bit of a maze if you aren't familiar with the streets, but once you find the Venkateshwara Building, we are easy to spot. The clinic has been in this building for quite a while now, and it feels like a part of the local scenery. We open the shutters every morning and start by cleaning the floors. The waiting area is just a few benches lined up against the wall where people sit and wait their turn. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except for the sounds of the neighborhood outside. We have a simple desk where we keep our registers and the patient cards. The rooms inside are not very big, but they are enough for the checkups we do. We try to keep things organized, though the files sometimes pile up on the desk during a busy week. The lighting is just standard bulbs, and the walls are a plain off-white. There aren't any fancy modern designs here, just a functional space for medical visits. Most of our patients are people who live in the surrounding streets of Nagashetty Halli. They usually just walk over when they aren't feeling well. We spend our time between patients tidying up the instruments and making sure everything is ready for the next person who comes through the door.
