Our shop, D F M Technology Pvt Ltd, is at A-15 in the HMT Industrial Estate over in Vadgadi. We are right opposite the Kendria Vidhyalaya school, so you can often hear the kids out at recess during the day. Being in an industrial estate means things are a bit rugged and functional. We work with technology, but the workshop looks more like a place where things actually get built by hand. There’s usually a bit of grease on the tables and a lot of different tools lying around in various places. We’ve been at this location for a good while. Most of the neighbors are all doing similar industrial stuff, so we fit right in with everyone else. It’s definitely not the kind of place you’d wear a fancy suit to. We usually have the big fans going full blast because it gets quite warm in the afternoons. It’s just a small group of us here. We know our machines and how they are supposed to run when they are working right. We don't spend much money on advertising or making the place look pretty for visitors. We just care that the stuff we make works the way it is supposed to. Sometimes the school traffic makes the mornings a bit of a slow crawl. We just take it as it comes. It’s an honest day's work for our team. We just keep doing our thing.
