Crumbs is sitting at 757 Raja Ram Nagar in Koramangala. It’s not the biggest place, but it fits what we need. We spend most of our time dealing with flour and sugar, so there’s usually a thin layer of white dust on our aprons by noon. The oven in the back has a specific way it needs to be closed or it won't latch properly. We’ve learned all its little quirks over the years. Koramangala is always moving, but our little corner stays pretty consistent. We get a lot of students coming in because the colleges aren't far off. They usually have books spread out all over the small tables we have. We don't mind, as long as they don't spill too much. The name Crumbs actually came from how the floor looks at the end of a busy shift. No matter how much we sweep, there’s always something left behind. We use plain white plates and the forks don’t all match because some went missing over time. The front door sticks a little when it rains, so you have to give it a good push. We haven't got any fancy decorations, just a few pictures on the wall that we liked. It’s just us working here, making sure things get done. We start early while the street is still quiet and finish up when the streetlights come on. It's just a regular job for us.
